More on the OU issue:
According to sources in New York and DC, Darren Schneider, the IPA's Associate Director for the past seven months (he replaced Josh Sussman when Josh and his family made aliyah to Neve Daniel) resigned (perhaps abruptly) to take a job at the National Institute of Health. Nathan Diament, IPA's director, is too busy to take on the heavy responsibility of organizing the program (sorting through applications, resumes, essays, letters of recommendation, days of interviews etc) and so the program was suspended for the year. Time will tell if they'll bring it back in the future but I certainly hope they do. In fact, they should find a way to keep it going this year because its such a vital program for the Jewish community. I'd be willing to help in any way possible, that's for sure.
