Ouch!

He can't run for President because he's too liberal and, apparently, he can't run for another term or try to unseat Hillary...then again, aides constantly point out, he's never lost an election in his life.
Poll Shows Pataki Trailing Spitzer 51%-35%.
The AP (2/8, Humbert) reports Gov. George Pataki’s “chances for winning a fourth term against potential Democratic candidate Eliot Spitzer don’t look good” and “Pataki would do even worse if he tries to unseat Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton,” according to a statewide poll released Monday by the Siena College Research Institute. The poll 7 also shows Clinton “beating former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani should Giuliani try to take her on in 2006. Giuliani would top Spitzer, however, in a run for governor, the poll found.” The poll “had Spitzer topping Pataki in a hypothetical gubernatorial race, 51 percent to 35 percent. … Giuliani is ahead of Spitzer, 49 percent to 40 percent. In possible Senate races, Clinton tops Pataki 58 percent to 32 percent, and is ahead of Giuliani 52 percent to 43 percent.” The telephone poll “of 621 registered voters was conducted Jan. 31-Feb. 3 and has a sampling margin of error of plus of minus 4 percentage points.”
