*** Sharon to speak at Baruch College at 2pm on Sunday, May 22 ***

According to sources, who cite confirmation from the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations (and the president of one Pres Conf member org), Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will be speaking at Baruch College at 2pm on Sunday, May 22nd; a day before heading down to D.C. to speak at the annual AIPAC conference. He will attempt to drum up support for his disengagement plan etc.

Anti-disengagement plan groups (National Council of Young Israel, Americans For a Safe Israel, Zionist Organization of America etc) will be holding a prayer vigil outside. Confirmed speakers include Rabbi Moshe Tendler, Rabbi Steven Pruzansky, Heshy Reichman, Helen Friedman, ZOA President Mort Klein, and New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind.

More details to follow as they become available.

I kid you not. However, I did ask around today and no one else seemed to know about it (even those in the office I worked at last summer who would normally know about this stuff) so I'm somewhat suspicious. But the person who told me (a member of the organization whose QC chapter I used to preside over) said he got confirmation from the Prez Conf and from the president of our organization himself. As I wrote in the original post-more details as they become available.

I just returned from the anti-withdraal demonstration at Baruch College. The crowds were huge, and the demonstration was a sucess. No doubt Sharon heard us. His Reformist supporters were grinding their teeth to see so many observant Jewish Americans stand up against appeasement of Palestinian terror! Long live the Orange Revolution!
